I felt so lucky to be asked to photograph my close friends P+D’s El Paso elopement. They wanted to have an intimate ceremony in The Franklin mountains, a place where they used to visit often when they lived in the area. I was tasked with not just capturing their ceremony but documenting the three or four days we spent together. I wanted to capture not just the gorgeous sunrise vows, but as importantly P+D being themselves in a place they held dearly. The day before their wedding we cooled off by the pool and went for an evening drive to take in the views of both El Paso and the Mexican City of Juárez. The morning of their wedding we were up before the birds, driving in the dark to a local trailhead for the short hike to their ceremony spot. Surrounded by mountains with views of El Paso and the surrounding area, P+D wed just as the sun was rising. It was one of the most magical weddings I’ve had the pleasure of photographing.

El Paso Elopement

El Paso provides a stunning backdrop for couples who want an intimate and scenic elopement. The city’s diverse locations range from dramatic desert landscapes to historic missions, each offering a unique setting for your special day. The Franklin Mountains State Park is a favorite among couples seeking a rugged, natural backdrop, while Hueco Tanks State Park offers a magical combination of history and breathtaking rock formations.

One of the best things about eloping in El Paso is the flexibility it allows. You can choose to exchange vows with just the two of you or invite a few close loved ones to witness the moment. No matter the size of your elopement, the golden hues of the desert and the endless Texas sky create an unforgettable atmosphere.

Beyond the scenery, El Paso is also rich in culture and history. Imagine saying your vows in front of a historic Spanish mission or incorporating local traditions into your celebration. An El Paso elopement is about more than just a location—it’s about embracing the experience and making it entirely your own.
